School Direct Non-Salaried

A School Direct non-salaried course involves schools working in partnership with a range of providers, including some Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and School-Centred Initial Teacher Training Centres (SCITTs), to provide candidates with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) only or a PGCE qualification.

For School Direct places starting in September 2019 we are working collaboratively with the Cambridge and Suffolk Schools Alliance (CASSA), with many of their School Direct trainees undertaking placements at a school within the Morris Education Trust.

In partnership with the Cambridge Teaching School Network SCITT, CASSA offer a QTS only course with placements in the following subjects:

  • Secondary Biology
  • Secondary Chemistry
  • Secondary Computing
  • Secondary Design & Technology
  • Secondary English
  • Secondary Geography
  • Secondary History
  • Secondary Mathematics
  • Secondary Modern Foreign Languages
  • Secondary Physical Education
  • Secondary Physics
  • Primary – General
